Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at the Grande Colonial La Jolla was a delightful blend of history and modern luxury, making it the perfect backdrop for my photography pursuits and charming moments with friends. The hotel's rich heritage dates back to 1913, with beautifully restored architectural details that transported us back in time, while the ocean views from our room reminded me why I love capturing coastal beauty. The dining experience at NINE-TEN Restaurant was exceptional; each meal tasted as if crafted by an artist, complemented by the stunning murals inspired by nature. We also enjoyed strolling along the nearby beach, abundant with adorable seals and sea lions—ideal for candid shots that will surely be featured in my portfolio. With an attentive and friendly staff who went above and beyond, I left the Grande Colonial with a sense of nostalgia and a strong desire to return.
